What an amazing and inspiring video. This has motivated me in so many ways. I want to be apart of the movement and mission. Let's make a change for our boys of color.
This documentary is phenomenal! It not only provided statistics of the adverse consequences of not having Black male doctors but it showed the power of their presence, the beauty of their different life stories and experiences and equipped us with the ability to join this movement of making effective and necessary change! Thank you, Dr. Dale for pressing through every obstacle and challenge that would try to block you from writing your book and creating this documentary! Kudos to all those that supported and contributed to this work!!
This is one of the BEST documentaries I have seen in a long time. "Black Men in Coats" should be played in every Black & White household, in EVERY school and Black volunteer programs. KUDUOS!!!
Not a lot in this movie surprised me, unfortunately. However, having a production like this helps ignite the fire of fighting for a better and more just tomorrow. Two main points pushed in this movie were that we as a community need to do better to stop a lot of innate roadblocks/racism for black men to get into medicine, and the fact that black community (parents in specific) needs to help their black young men realize their potential in saving many lives as a physician. This touched me, and I hope to be a part of the solution, by any means necessary. I'm starting with my medical school, first.
This documentary is right on time!! I serve as the Co-Chair of the DC Career Technical Education Industry Advisory Board and we work with our Academy of Health Sciences at various high schools across the District of Columbia. Black Men in White Coats shows that there is a lot of work to do with regard to our education system. We have set up a pipeline program for our scholars to persist not only through high school but also in college. Pipeline programs are integral and IMPERATIVE for our scholars to accomplish their dream of being a physician. Thank you so much for this wonderful documentary!!
